Its clear that there are NO points of reference in Hyperspace, at least not that the Young Races can see, its possible FO level technology can, as implied by that Crusade Episode with Galens ship going deep into hyperspace. So the relative distances between points are the same in Hyperspace, its just that you can scoot along on your sublight engines for a few hours or days and get to where you're going, rather then scoot along for a few thousand years because the absoloute distance is utterly trivial. The vast bulk of firm evidence speaks to the B5 universe taking part in an -unrealsiticly- small chunk of the Galaxy. We often see people taking jautnts to alien worlds and the trip only taking a day or so on fast ships, or often many days on much slower ships then Whitestars.Īnd B5 is known to be in a central location between all the major powers. Sheriden for example with a flotila of Whitestars at full throttle took most of the day to reach Centuari prime in 'The Fall of Centuari Prime' which speaks of a similar distance Earth - B5.
And it generally takes several days to make it from B5 to other powers homeworlds, the Narn Homeworld for example is only 10 light years from Bablyon 5, similar distances are implied implicitly and explicitly for other races space (such as 27 light years for the Brikri homeworld).
The Whitestars on maximum burn in Endgame/Rising Star took at *least* several hours -and more likely a day or more- to make it from Sol to Epsilon Eridani. Actually its not anything like that fast.
